This video featuring the song “What Good Is a Heart?” by boy band Code Red has got to be one of the cheesiest videos my friend Chong and I have ever seen. For that reason, it is why the two of us have remained fascinated with the song.
(Warning: Useless information coming up.)
Code Red is a British boy band that formed in 1996. The song, “What Good Is a Heart?,” is from their 1999 album Missin’ You Already. How much cheesier can you get than that?
Chong was looking for this video a few months back. It was raining today and I missed seeing him chuckling in the cubicle next to mine. So, Chong, to celebrate our love of all things trashy, enjoy this video. For the record, Chong and I are not an item because we both like men.
The silly song may be too mushy but it also imparts wise advice through this question: “What good is a heart if you’re not gonna use it?” Yes, one can indeed donate the said organ to science but, well, that’s not what the lyrics are getting at. At least, I don’t think so.
